I built the Flash Chat app for Pocket PC as one of a suite of prototype apps for AtomFilms‘ mobile division AtomMobile. Flash Chat was designed to show off an ideal combination of dynamic, server-driven content with interactive Flash-based graphics and animation on a small screen.

Fig. 1: The Message and Send Screens – the robot only delivers happy messages. You can probably imagine what the cat delivers.

Working with an animator and a character designer, I designed and built the interface in Flash for maximum legibility on small screens. To reference the future of application development on Pocket PC, I developed a futuristic theme for the app with sporty, neon colors, rounded corners and fonts, and cute, animated characters.
